Hey guys,

I've got about a month worth of rear brakes left per my service advisor on the iDrive, so I figured I'd start looking now.

I was hoping you experts could give me some insight or recommendations on some good kits.

I've been searching around on http://bimmian.com/ at there 335i brake applications and noticed they use Stoptech and HP pads like most other vendors. The price for slotted/drilled rotors and pads would run me $400 and I could pick up locally....now here's the question!

Are they worth it for street application and occasional (2-3times/yr) 1/4 mile running? Or;

Do I try and fit an application like the HP pads and 335is from Z4 rotors on and call it a day? I saw another members thread with this set-up and it seemed to work out well, however not sure on pricing with those since they are OEM rotors.

Also, would SS lines and the special brake fluid be worth it?

Sorry the rotors at bimmian.com are SP performance rotors and
Not Stop Tech... Not sure about quality wise here, but looks like a good set.

Ive heard SS brake lines are an improvement.

My bad, according to them they come in a single, so a pair would run close to $300.00. I would say a good deal is $250.00, but for DBA4000's that is an average cost.

ATE Super Blue DOT4 helps a lot and the stainless steel lines help too.

This would have been a good option had I not have to worry about shipping to Ontario, exchange rate fees, taxes and other fees.

That's why I posted the bimmian.com website because it's local.(free with pickup) I also found out the kits they sell are made by Hawk Performance so I trust the quality.

For the rear rotor set its $330 flat for slotted/drilled and they are paired with ceramic pads for $80 more flat.
Looks like a great deal and I have somewhat of a good relationship with the sales manager.

Anyways, now that I know its a good set....are the ceramics a good choice in terms of bite/brake performance?

I would HATE if I put this set on and they don't brake as well as the OEM's.

From what I have read and what I have personally experienced, ceramic brake pad material offers some of the best performance found in a street pad. The bite is really good, with minimal noise and dust.

Good to know...I'm ordering this set as we speak. Just trying to finalize pricing!
