RPM Increase while shifting gears at higher speeds

I am sure this is 90% my fault but when i am 60-80% throttle I notice when i shift from 3-4 or 4-5 i get about a 300-600 RPM increase. What Am i doing wrong when i am shifting or is there a setting someplace to change the response in the throttle if that makes since

running a jb4 G5 with iso

If it's MT, learn how to shift properly.

If it's AT, trans is slipping. Take the JB out and take the car to the dealer.

bingo^^

if you are 6 MT you probably still have your foot slightly on the gas as you depress the clutch (push in the clutch pedal) when you go to shift... solution is don't.

or before you release the clutch pedal after switching gears you are stepping on the gas pedal.. don't.
