actually e90 with dpf coded so that DPF mileage is around 200k kms
after that it is say that dpf bad
other problem is thermostats, they tend to no keep temp after 3 years and engine coolant temp is not reaching 75C required for regeneration start
one more problem with air intake flap which it is should work to start regeneration
so you should check all these things and after you need to drive 30-60 min on highway with low rpm and load to regenerate DPF

Received a reply today from an email sent to Ecotune more than a week ago.

10% discount on the price for purchasing 2 DPF kits, recommended the sports cat and all errors coded out as well as EGR if requested.

Nice! Ecotune is a great product but their after sales support isn't great as Rubes tried to ask them to check the system for him as he feels the power gain is slightly less than advertised. Another option is buying the downpipes but going for a custom tune. Note that for LCI models custom tune is mandatory as ecotune cannot supply a map for the ecu cos it needs to be physically uploaded or something like that

Ecotune were extremely unresponsive to enquiries and emails went unanswered for weeks.

Antonie used a local source to gut the DPF and re-map the DDE.
I understand he is very satisfied with the gains.

He is really happy with the result considering given that he is very picky.

Hi Trev88,

Sorry for late reply due to very busy at this period.
Ken tried to contact ecotune but their customer service is really really bad.
We cannot trust a online shop which is not reliable especially regarding to ECU remapping.

However, my DPF was too bad and it should be fixed asap. I tried to get info & quote from different workshops and finally the average price would be around $1600.

All the process shown as below,
1. Carbon clean up (EGR, DPF & swirl flags) with the cycling equipment.
2. Engine oil changing after clean up
3. Jack up the vehicle and take off the DPF pipe.
4. Cut off and smash the DPF blocks, then weld back properly.
5. Install the pipe back.
6. Copy the original data from ECU to the laptop, tell the tuner what is your requirements. (Not much local tuners in Perth to be honest and expensive)
7. Wait for the tuner replied and drag the mod data back to your ECU.
8. Dyno tuning

I requested EGR, DPF & swirl flags deleted in my ECU.
It becomes very smooth, powerful (push back feeling) and better handling after tuned. (I felt something blocked b4 when driving!!!)

Now my vehicle torque max is 517NM @82KPH, power becomes 198.9HP @144KPH.
(Original max torque is 418NM @78KPH, Power is 167.6HP @122KPH)
Remember all at the wheels!

Like I said too busy at this period I have no time to share my photos & report with you guys.

Please PM me if you have any questions regarding to the details of DPF.
I will try to reply you in my earlier convenience.

Someone in Perth.
And anthonie is looking for a pair of 20mm - 25mm spacers for the rear wheels.
He is running 18x9 OEM style 189 (spider) rims with 225/40/18 tyres.
And yes, 225 width only.
Way too much room underneath the wheel arches.

Hey Rubes think evolve technik has pretty good reviews on their custom tuning. Ever thought about it? Think the tune was $1430?
