e90 Reverse Camera

Hi guys, I'm looking at getting this reverse camera

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E90-E9...item415dfc1a7d

Has anyone bought one and got it to work on a 2006 I-drive screen, can it be done ?

Any help is much appreciated

Thanks

It's not anywhere as simple as it sounds. It's very expensive. Some have done it in the states.

It's one of those upgrades like xenons - relatively cheap to specify new but a whole ballache after the event.

Surely it can't be as bad as the armrest USB, well under £100 to specify & between £700 - £1,000 (depending on garage) to get it retrofitted

might just get a nice 3.5" monitor and wire to that, and mount that somewhere on the dash

i fitted an interface and camera in my e90 335d 2007
it was from this seller, i think it was this model (but check with him 1st)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-iDrive...item3cca8e95c1
he did me a bit of a deal as i got the camera at the same time (which was about £27 i think)
v good seller and was very helpful with any wiring problems i had
cam went faulty after about 6 months but he replaced it straight away and no probs since.
not to hard to fit, just time consuming taking trim apart. nice job for a warm, dry weekend
can play dvds etc as well if i plug in dvd player.
btw, it uses idrive screen as the monitor

i have a question for the people who installed cameras with CCC interface and already have PDC:

if you press the PDC button manually.. will the camera be activated? or just the PDC will appear on the screen?

just the pdc comes on. if you wanted it on any other time you could connect to a live feed with a trigger switch

that may work, but maybe you could connect to the reverse wire with seperate live, although this may make the reverse light come on when not wanted?

well.. thats why u cant test it.. i believe .. if your video interface is connected to thecan network.. then u can program it with the keyboard so it can turn on without using the lamp wire.. but thru the CAN network..
which MAY or MAY NOT make the camera work if u press the PDC button...
