Anyone in the Portland, OR area? Any shop recommendations?

Fairly new member, picked up an '11 M-sport back in June. Really enjoying the car, but my first dreaded SES light came on yesterday. Read it as code P20EE, which from brief search sounds like 4D16 which sounds like an expensive wild goose chase. I'm so new to diesels, all the threads have my head spinning on the references to the different parts.

Hoping maybe someone might have a shop recommendation in the Portland area. Rather not take it somewhere that hasn't seen this before and just starts speculating with expensive parts.

Car has about 78k miles, so it passed the sh!t-out-of-luck point a while back for warranty. Have an aftermarket warranty, but won't cover any of this I imagine.

Thanks in advance.

I live in Vancouver, Wa. Are you willing to cross the bridge? Jason with Bavarian AutoWorks does really good work.

Definitely don't mind crossing the bridge. Maybe I could bring my own sales tax free parts, haha. So Jason has worked on the diesels quite a bit?

I've used Matrix Integrated here in Portland for some work on my VW, really liked them, but not sure they spend a lot of time on these cars...still need to check.

Thanks.

Jason is very familiar with the diesels. I would call him first and run it by him regarding bringing your own parts.

I'm interested in knowing were you ended up taking your car. I'm in Portland also and just had the P20EE error. If the SES light doesn't go out soon (I just flushed the injector with water to remove buildup) I may have to take mine in also. It had 53K so I think its out of warranty.

Argh, sorry for not responding sooner. The notifications from this site don't seem to work for me, so I rarely note if someone responds to my threads.

I took my car to Matrix Integrated in downtown. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. I've worked with Bryan on our VW and most recently Logan on the BMW. Logan came from one of the local BMW dealers and based on my limited knowledge of the issues, was on spot with what I've read here for a diagnostic path. Started with replacement of the SCR metering valve, been a good 500-600 miles and no repeat CEL...knock on wood.

I do believe you should be covered until 70k miles though, so I would start with a call to a dealer first.

Thanks for the reply. Cleaning my injector seems to have solved the issue. Its good to know they can work on our cars.

I was just about to suggest Logan @ Matrix, he's a great guy and good friend of mine (we used to work together at the BMW dealership). Glad he got you sorted out!
