V-Mount IC on N54

I have search and didn't see anyone mention much about a V-mount IC for N54, would't that leave more airflow to our radiator?? yes we have to trim the bumber and thoes black plastic shroud to make this fit, or maybe we have to wait for a new bumber design to give more room on this setup. Thought??

Just some example if you are new to Vmount.
This is a Vmount on rx7: http://www.turnhard.com/press-releas...for-fd3s-rx-7/

Whole lot of $$, cutting up a perfectly good car, for very little benefit. But you do it and let us know how it goes.

There is not even close to enough room to mount an intercooler on our cars like that.

LOL @ hard core people at the top.
Top of what?
Want a cookie?

not worth it, would be cheaper to get an upgraded radiator if rad air flow was really an issue.

This, go look at your car and see how the hell you are going to get that v mount to work for you.

And this, the flow isn't really an issue now even with the bigger IC's so you should be just fine.

although I would like to have this for race wars, it'd probably pull a premium a couple weeks before.

Predictable from our forum, maybe when our car are more affordable more mod options will be available. Just bringing the topic up for kick and giggle. This is same as poke/stretch style, its either you like it or not

No.. it is not.

Poke/stretch is a stance style and has an aesthetic appeal all its own.. V mount intercoolers are purely functional.

There's no way they would work on our cars with our limited space between the bumper and engine.

Furthermore, there is no reason for a V-mount because radiator flow is adequate even with aftermarket coolers that have a vertical plate & bar arrangement.

Still further, the price of our vehicles will never dictate or justify a aftermarket "solution" that doesn't solve anything. It has nothing to do with our forum.. the idea is just impractical and irrelevant.

Oh.. and BTW.. you owe me a 10 second car.

Have you pulled the front bumper of a 335i? The cooling system is designed properly and places the FMIC below the radiator with its own airflow ducting, and is even integrated into the radiator fan shroud. Any attempt to change this would be a step backward.

Jesus Christ, it's bumper, not bumber.

V-mount intercoolers give excellent throttle response, only if you don't ruin the system by installing a bov on it. Are you seriously claiming to drive your 335 sideways often enough to cause overheating due to insufficient air flow over the radiator?
