the 325/330 BOTH have a 188L.
I'd like to say that the 335 SEDAN also has a 188L, but I can't say that with 100% certainty. |

Sounds good, thank you for orchestrating this!
Hey, be sure in you proposal to mention that this LSD is in a high torque environment that may be expected (granted we cant plan for every mod, but the XEDE turbos are putting down 400 ft/lbs of torque) This is far and above the "traditional" BMW output. |

Quaife LSD
I spoke to the guys at quaife who said with the correct demand they would be interested, its about a 2-3 month build time for the first unit. with 16 people currently interested this should be a go.

Update
I spoke with Quaife and they will go ahead with this project as long as we have at least 15+ people committed.
There are a few details I can let you know about immediately: 1. The cost will be 1495.00 USD which comes with a lifetime warranty. 2. Biasing will be custom set for each application. E90 325i/330i will have a specific biasing as with E90/E92 335i. Special biasing for 335i with XEDE will be available if it actually needed. 3. The delivery time is estimated at 12-14 weeks at the moment. The delivery time might be considerably less as thing move ahead but at the moment this time frame stands. The next stage for Quaife is to define the scope of work. The first thing they need is information on the differntal either by purchasing the units or by having a customer provide them a sample. I would like to ask if anyone with 330i and 335i, who lives close to San Juan Capistrano in California, that would be willing to leave their car at Quaife for 2 days so it can be used to measured from. In return, you will receive the very first installed unit at no cost and will also substantially reduce the delivery date. Anyone, who interested please private message me. I will follow up with you all early next week on the next step which will be a proper quotation and ordering details. My background is in mechanical engineering who works primarily on new product development so if you have a specific questions I will try to answer them. |

Again orb, sounds great! That price is pretty reasonable, assuming the install is not overly labor-intensive (I think I can speak for the group when we are thinking about 2K or so out-of-pocket) Its also good to hear their application can handle the massive torque of the 335. I would say the current xede numbers are a good "baseline" for development; the xede isnt going to make significantly more power in future iterations, and any other "software" that is released will yield results close to the xede as well.
Come on cali guys, a free install alone is worth it (that would definitely cover a rental car cost for the duration) |

The additional torque really is not a big issue.
I should have clearly mentioned that the people who donate their car for 2 days get the LSD + install at no cost. Quote:

I guess I should be (of been put) on the list at #9 (my "condition" was that it was priced at $2k or under as stated in the OP. Nobody on this list will be "confirmed" if the price is $3500...as I'm sure everyone would drop off the list. |

Hi,
You asked if the part was easily removable and it not going to be cheap (600.00+) so i saw this as a condition and not the cost. Anyway, I added you and don't worry about the order as they will all be produced in the same week. 1. Kujo 2. RichP (tentatively on specfication being meet) 3. Specialque 4. Stressdoc 5. Patric 335 6. bmwmike 7. Orb 8. sdiver68 (tentatively on specfication being meet) 9. Ryan(E92) 10. Aznevoviii 11. Turbocoins 12. daisy16905 13. DanHarman 14. Timn 15. ORB,
I'm in LA, so San Juan Cap is a bit of a drive for me. I would gladly donate my ride for the cause, but it'd be a tough thing to line up. I work at Warner Bros on a tv show and work 70 hour weeks. Can they do this measuring work on a Saturday and Sunday ? I could drop the car off Sat am and pick up on Sunday evening ? Otherwise, lets get a car in there and get this moving forward. Also, do they do installs 'in house' ? Meaning, can I drive down there on a Saturday to have them install my LSD ? GOT LSD ? kj |

Yes, that is also a good point, I will have the Xede in my car as well.
Won't be running the 100 octane map though, just a custom tuned 91 Octane map. So the LSD has to be safe and strong enough to handle that extra power. |
