Moving from CA to CO any advice
So after 3 years in SoCal I'm moving to Denver. I'm originally from the great state of the Corn huskers so I'm accustom to some snow. But the hills in CO may make it interesting what I'm looking for is any advice, good deal ships, great driving routs, and advice of snow setup stuff like that. In NE I just ran all-seasons will that do in Denver/Aurora area or do I need a pair of winter and maybe a set of chains? I'm running 09 335i xDrive.
Also any advice and how you think my wife's 09 Lexus is250 RWD would do in the winter. I never had a RWD car in the winter before all FWD or AWD so it is new to me.

Winter tires are a must....no chains needed if you have winters, it will be a tank. Get a clear bra or you will eat rocks like no ones business.

Welcome! Have dedicated summer and winter tires, no chains necessary unless you are planning on plowing Loveland and Bethoud passes for CDOT. Search this Rockies/Midwest forum for tires and driving routes.

My personal tire favs: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....A3XL&tab=Sizes IMO Blizzaks are overkill in Colorado (especially for xi) because it is dry here, even in winter. These PA3s handle better than any A/S tire I have ever had, but are much better in snow. These are perfect for your XI. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....VAN+Neova+AD08 As for the Lexus, get dedicated winters again. Blizzaks for extra safey, or the PA3s again.

Welcome! I'm also in the Aurora area. I've had impeccable service from Murray BMW in Denver.
I ran Continental DWS on my factory wheels all winter and had no problems. Blizzaks are a great choice for RWD cars in my opinion. See you around A town! I drive an Sparkling grey 08 335xi. |

CO Springs or Denver
Im planning a move to either The Springs or Denver within the next few months. Any thoughts on The Springs with regards to tires or maintenance issues? I drive a 2wd, sports pack, 335.
Thanks for the driving reccos! I can't wait to explore the area. Also, any general recommendations for performance/tuning shops and/or any BMW dedicated mechanics? Thanks! |
