Legit TTL fees for new car
Ok having gone through the process of purchasing a new BMW, I was astounded by the Registration Tax for MN (which i verified by contacting the DMV).
Makes me wonder how other states compare. Anyone else care to share how much they paid for their state? It might be good to collect this data for future buyers. I'll start. These numbers are verified by someone at the Minnesota DMV. My registration tax is $551 for a total of $637.25 ------------------- Registration tax: $10.00 + 1.25% of base value (stock invoice) price of car License plate fee:$6.00 Public Safety Vehicle fee: $3.50 Transfer tax: $10.00 Title/transfer fee: $6.25 Lien fee $2.00 Excise/Sales tax: (6 ½%) Based on Purchase Price or Fair Market Value, whichever is greater State/Deputy Filing fee: $8.50 |
