Ooops. I think that might be a typo on my part. I actually thought P Hueneme was close to SD for some reason. I guess not.

So spn, does that mean GRUS is a day late? Looks like it was scheduled for 4/24 in Jacksonville.

Well that's good since today IS the 25th. Should hit the canal on the 29th? Or at least it was scheduled to.

Yes. It happens frequently. We are all suffering the same fate, as our ships (a group of us have been tracking for a month) are now reaching their SoCal ports and they are all late. There was a big back up at the Panama Canal, so prepare yourselves for changing dates. And, they can change in either direction, early or late. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not good. Lately it hasn't been good.

She could sail later tonight, but probably tomorrow afternoon at the latest. They are usually in these smaller ports less than 24 hours.

Ships will sit down at the PanCanal for 2-3 days, though, waiting their turn to go through. Lately, some of the ships have been sitting down in the canal region for longer periods of time, as the canal has been so busy with ships trying to cross.

Unfortunately, Jacksonville AIS isn't very good. This is all I can see right now. Does the Jaxsport schedule give an estimated departure? I can keep an eye on this AIS and possibly catch her leaving. The only way to track her on her way to the PanCanal is on sailwx.info if she were to report any weather observations.

This is what is showing for Jacksonville this morning. I have no idea if Grus is in the clump of yellow arrows. I can only zoom in enough to see labels of green arrows, which are ships that are moving.

Port Hueneme 5/7

My CA emailed earlier to tell me that Grus is scheduled to be at Hueneme now the 7th of May, slightly ahead of schedule and that I could expect my car here in Denver on the 17th.

Cheers

Mine's going to Idaho, but I'm in Salt Lake. I bet we'll be about the same.

Damn! I was hoping it would be here before American LeMans that weekend at Miller. Bummer.

Nah, not really - I went through this in August too and it only took a couple of extra days to get from California to Colorado. They always pad their arrival/shipping time estimates, so I expect it will be here sooner rather than later if all goes well.

That is when she is due to arrive on the Atlantic side of the PanCanal. She might transit the next day, though. They always wait at least one night in the Atlantic Anchorage before transiting, because they only go through Gatun Locks in the southward direction (towards the Pacific) in the mornings. The schedule is actually showing that she is transiting on the 4th, but she will transit before then. I will keep an eye on AIS radar for her.

She was scheduled for the 29th early morning huh? Sigh she's going to be late which means I have to wait an extra week to pick up the M. Damn.
