Greeting I have bad valve cover. Car is N52 325i 2006. Car run ok so far little bit of rough idle. Planning to change it in month or so. My question is it bad for the car in main time to commute to work etc? Cheers

I'd change it ASAP. It might get worse. I would not wait a month to do something like this, but if I was tempted or had to, I would open the hood before every drive and observe if it is getting worse or not. Nothing good will happen by waiting, except you can delay paying for the repair.

When you say the valve cover is bad, what is wrong with it?

Yes, what is wrong with it? If it's seeping oil at the gasket, you can probably wait a little while. If there's a hole and you can see the cams, probably best to fix it ASAP...

It's aluminum, is it cracked? You may just have a bad gasket.

If it's a plastic one, the PCV is built into it, and the rubber diaphragm can deteriorate causing a ridiculous screeching sound followed with a rough idle. Ask me how I know
