I can replace the plugs on all three of my cars combined (90 accord(I4), 98 accord(I4) and 335) faster then my Tahoe 5.3 V8. And the Tahoe is one of the easier V8 to replace plugs in.
Any FWD V8 and V6 are hell. The engineers must think we have eyes in our hands and rubber arms.

Ya transverse V engines are stupid. The only one I've ever owned that I didn't mind so much was my Gen 1 Taurus SHO with the Yamaha engine.

Any excused to pop the hood and look/work on that engine was good for me.

It was the last vehicle with a transverse engine I bought though.
Since then nothing but Inline 4/6's and RWD V8's for me.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it, although I preferred to hand crank them down with a short wrench instead of a torque wrench.

Anyone else notice how "gritty" the spark plug threads are on this engine?

Just need to be chased. As soon as I did that. My plugs go in super smooth.

At first I thought it was a pain because of the covers but now I can get to them under 10 min, probably 5 min. My Maxima was a pain, my Cobra became a pain after the S/C. Love how simple and easy its on the 335i, to think they charge more to install them than my other 2 cars

Use the extension. BTW that's not the type of extension that changes the torque setting.

Those of you who did this without a torque wrench and just did hand tight + 1/4 turn, how tight is hand tight? It could be just turning with your fingers and stopping right when you feel the first sign of resistance, or it could be grabbing the thing with your hand and twisting as hard as you can, or somewhere in between?

Use a torque wrench.... Anyone telling you not to has no idea what they are talking about. Leaving a plug too loose can be just as damaging as over tightening.. I've seen plugs blowout of the head taking the rest of the threads with it.
