Yes it is normal. The throttle plate closes which causes a pressure spike.

On map 8 the wastegates should be fully open... And they shouldn't rattle when fully open. Can you post a video of the rattle, it seems to be coming from something else than your turbos based on description...

As for the boost it kind of moved both ways under and over, it's unstable but at wot it goes over (just passes by one unit of halftank. Def doesn't stay in the middle.
I can make a video and email it to you if you want. I can catch it on camera.
Boost should stay within one mark around the half tank mark when stabilized at WOT. It's all over the place when you just press on the gas or release the gas pedal, but with your foot planted on the floor and RPMs climbing up, it seems your boost is on target. If it was below target then I'd say your wastegate isn't closing all the way but it doesn't seem to be the case here.

It's hard to tell man. Strange how it only happens at specific RPM though... I'm out of ideas here, keep us posted on what you find out. Good luck bro, I hope it turns out to be a simple/cheap fix...

90% sure it is flex plate or torque converter imbalance., Have them checked for loose bolts and cracks. I would also check all the mounts trans and engine because something probably moved to cause your issue.

Funny thing though is that it started happening after I installed turbos intercooler and downpipes(all at the same time)

That's not your waste-gates... I'd bet it's exhaust related...

I think it is rotational based on being RPM related and the noise. I'd take it in to a good shop and let them diagnosis it. But my bet right now because of all the other sutff we eliminated and your trans issues is flex plate/torque converter. Get them to pull the belt to rull out accessories also. Does it happen at the same RPM in every gear?

Already re checked everything! The mechanic hit the exhaust in different spots with the rubber hammer and he was able to slightly replicate the sound, he then verified that it was coming from the turbo and he said it's an adjusment. So I donno I'm going to go with his word, hopefully this adjustment doesn't screw up my brand new turbo.

I don't know if it happens at the same rpm in every hear haven't tried it out, but I am able to mask the sound slightly In menu 12 on the jb4 the higher I set it (3500 rpm) the quieter it gets. But it only quiets a tiny bit.

That is definitely wastegate rattle....I had exactly the same sound when Ivo installed my downpipes.

It eventually seemed to go away when I adjusted wastegate duty cycles a bit.

But yeah......I remember being kind of upset at the time too.

Upside is that the turbos worked fine regardless.

I'm getting them adjusted tomorow. As for Ivo, I don't go there no more. The way he gave me the car back was unacceptable. Steering completely out of line, loud rattle because the wastegate should've been adjusted.

If they are going to adjust the locknut on the wastegate actuator rod then that may help......but it is not easy to get to the front turbo to access that nut.

Do a search and you will see that the consensus is that the front turbo adjustment nut is impossible to get to unless you start removing engine parts.

If it's just the rear turbo that's rattling then you will be probably be good to go.

Where are you taking the car to get this done? Would be good to have another resource available to work on this platform given it has so many annoying problems.

I'm going to rmp tomorrow morning. I hope he fixes this annoying rattle. When I'm on the street people look at me with a weird look on there face like what the hell is that sound. On the upside my turbos have zero rattle on decel, and the car boosts amazingly now

Hey guys just an update, got my car back from rmp and the car still has the rattle. He silenced it a bit only... I'm going to BMW since I have no other choice. These guys clearly don't have enough experience to resolve the problem.
I'm done with Ivo and rmp

I have brand new dealer installed turbos and my car makes the exact same sounds. I'm FBO with JB4, haven't messed with settings yet. But let me know what happens. I've had my car back a week today and haven't driven much because my stock charge pipe cracked. I just put in the er cp with tial bov and noticed the rattle after about 10 miles. I'll try some of the tricks mentioned as well and report back
