Even I have improved my times with the same modifications at the track just by learning the car better and shifting more efficiently. If there is one thing I do notice is that if I'm racing a car I should beat I don't really try that hard. That 2-3 cars may have been true but he could have more left in it also. A true racer never gives all he has unless he really needs to Quote:
Stock is about 445WHP |

now he has headers, cat delete, intake, x pipe and a tune. he lost to my buddy's '11 sti with 595awhp 495awtq (mustang dyno) by only a car length this makes me wanna buy one but they are still expensive and to mod them they are worse than our bimmers.

02-04 C5Z's are about 360whp.
It would take $4k-$7k depending on the parts you buy and if you did all the work to get it to 450-460whp. I was going to get a C5Z before I decided to go the 335 route. After thinkin about it more it made more sense to just straight to a procharger but that was a large chunk of money up front after buying a $20k-$25k car. Vettes are trap speed beasts, I love them. I will prob own one someday. |

12.1 stock is not that good of a time. It should be in the mid 11's. I pray for your friends STI, even built they seem to be ticking times bombs. I already made the mistake of going with a big cam and I hated it. I think I'm going to hold out until the new c7 z06 is a few years old then pick one of those up. :crosses fingers: All the refinements this C6 needs is fixed in the C7 and the looks and power are just awesome. |

Best of both worlds here!
C6Zs are no joke. Our cars (BMW) are just never going to be highway cars, too heavy and poor aero. My C5Z with just an intake and tune went 12.5 @ 118 which is enough to take care of most of the 335's on this forum, I would not underestimate a C5Z either. If they have heads/cam there is basically nothing you are doing to your 335 that's going to catch it, from a dig or a roll.

My buddy has a CTS-V 1st gen with a maggie supercharger maxed out. The thing is mean for a 4 door sedan. He needs to do the 8.8 swap soon though his 3rd rear end is starting to whine. So I agree a built LS6 is mean also.

Ak335i cars is fast. He was throttling it for most if the run. If he was running full boost he would have walked busses. I have personally witnessed him beating 140 trap car in the roads
