E93 auto style

Been looking at e93's along with a few other convertibles.

I cant quite make it out though with the auto box 'stick' if you like, im looking at 2010 onwards so all are lci.

It seems that only the 335i has the later style gearbox where you push it forward or back depending on d/r and park is on the top, theres a nice 330d up atm but it has the what i thought was the pre lci gear stick?

Now if im spending all that money i want it kitted with the later style gearstick.

Surely i dont have to get a 335i just to get it, anyone shed some light on it for me

That's the DCT shifter you won't get that on any other model.

So in other words they forgot about every other 3 series other than the 35i.
Drove the father in laws lci 535d on the weekend and its so much better to use and looks more modern, all the e60 lci's have them right through the range.

Can these be retrofitted?

As Kris said, that is the DCT shifter and is only on 335i's because they are the only non M models that have DCT on the E9x range.

You can probably retrofit it if you want, I don't see why you would though? Use Flappy paddles? It's an auto, you don't need the stick lol.

The retrofit ones you get look the part but don't function the same as there is a physical cable to operate on autos but not on the DCT.
