Surf City Signs Are HORRIBLE :mad0260:

Surf City Signs did a horrible job on my car! I warn ANYBODY in the Southern California area to go somewhere else, anywhere else, to get their car wrapped. They did a horrible job and then gave me the run around to get the issue fixed and then essentially told me to go fuck myself by discontinuing communication about the issue for 3 weeks until they were contacted by my credit card company to dispute the charges for not getting anywhere close to delivering the agreed upon quality. Service rendered was not the quality agreed upon. Many surfaces were not fully covered with the vinyl wrap. Most cases the wrap was not applied all the way to the edge of the surface. In other cases the wrap was lifting up, such as under the door handles. In other cases the vinyl wrap was simply not applied missing big chunks, leaving the previously painted red surface showing. The model numbers on the back of my car were carelessly covered by the vinyl, they are to be worked around the same way the car's emblem was worked around. I have posted pictures of the shitty job they did at http://spasticexistentialism.com/?p=206

$$$$

They Charged me $1700. $850 up front then $850 on delivery. I didn't pay the full $850 when I picked up the car because of all the issues. Only agreed to pay part of it under the understanding that the issues would be fixed. After researching the fixes I found out there really aren't any good fixes to a poor initial application other than strip it and start over from scratch.

I think a refund is totally deserved, what do you guys think? Too much? Too little?

Personally I would be willing to give them another chance. They screwed the pooch the first time, but now EXTRA attention to detail will be paid. And I would expect them to do it for ~1000 now for the hassle.

Full Refund 100%. Since you paid with credit card and documented the incident your credit card company will refund you the money, especially after they see those pictures of the trunk. It doesnt matter if they take extra attention to detail that install is straight garbage no skills what so ever. You should also check the edges because they probably scratched your paint with the razor.

The way I look at it, if you get a full refund they wasted your time, which= money. I would rather have the manager do the install himself and get the sick matte gray finish, but for considerably less then originally quoted.

Do you guys mind if I attribute some of your quotes to your username for my post to put more pressure on the owner for a refund? Thanks.

Definitely ask the credit card company to fully reverse the charge.
You should not let the shop touch your car anymore, given their track record.

It reminds of Time Attack wheels - black with a red pin stripe. Hope everything works out for you. Would be nice to order the car from the factory in a matte paint.

1700 seems cheap to begin with.
Is that how much full wraps cost nowadays?
I thought a quality job was around 3000.

Pull up some edges to make sure they didn't lay some deep scratches into your paint when cutting the vinyl.
