BMW body shop
Hello guys, My car was recently hit in an accident where the other party was at fault. My car needed new door and quarter panel on driver side.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=450704 Since these were critical parts and my car was fairly new(2 yrs/20k mi still left in warranty), I wanted to go to a BMW certified shop none of which were in my city (Kansas city) which really sucks for such a big city. I had to drive my car 180 mi to get it to a BMW certified shop. Now, I got two questions: 1. If I call BMW and ask them to compensate me for this 800 mi trip ( 2 round trips of 400 mi , once to drop and another to pick up my car), will they do it? 2. The work done by the shop is very disappointing as they messed up a few things and the job isn't finished perfectly which makes me really mad at this whole thing. Will talking to BMW help me get this thing set straight. I hate to see my car like this for no fault if mine. If u guys think I should contact BMW, can I just call BMW NA and complain? Thanks guys! just curious. why do you feel that bmw should compensate for your milage?
you should complaint to bmwna if they own the shop, otherwise complaint directly to the shop. make sure you post a review on yelp.com!

You have to talk to your INSURANCE ... since it is not your fault... Then your insurance will have to do the negotiation to whichever shop you bring your car to... |

You should also asked the shop to arrange a towing to bring your car to the shop instead of driving it there... towing is covered by insurance too...

I would assume most owners would definitely not want to take their car to just any body shop for major fixes/repairs like in my case. Moreover, if a shop doesn't fix my car properly, BMW could possibly reject when I claim warranty repairs for the same parts. Actually, I have already complained to the shop, but haven't heard back anything from them yet. |
