Electrical Components SOLD!

Only dash remains, but will post separate ad.

Non-Navigation to Navigation/I-Drive conversion kit! Avoid the headache and time of having to research and scrounge for every single part and component needed for the conversion with this handy-dandy kit ready to go!

Every component, such as wiring, pins, plugs, connectors, screws, adapters, and what-not, to convert a non-navigation E9x series to navigation with I-Drive, except head unit, display, controller, and controller console cover panel. You can choose between the old CCC system, the newer CIC system, or the latest NBT system, though, the wiring components that are included were specific to CIC/NBT and may not be complete for the oldest CCC system (I recommend avoiding the CCC and it is vastly inferior to the CIC).

All black Double-Scoop Dash Panel included! It is the only item that is used, however, it is in flawless condition from a donor vehicle with only 20,000 on the odometer. Everything else is brand-new, never used, still sealed in factory packaging; some of which have been discontinued and are no longer available.

Itemized List:

1x Panel for Instrument Panel, Double Scoop, Black, PN 51459125815 (used, but immaculate and in perfect condition)

1x Cover for Center Speaker, Double Scoop, PN 51457123750
1x Adapter, PN 51457123751
1x Front Plate, Control Automatic Air Conditioning; with Navigation, PN 64116956736
1x Cover, Navigation System, PN 51459118703
1x Ventilation Hose; with Navigation, PN 64116928875

1x Pin-Contact, 0.75mm2, PN 61130006664 (for microphone reroute to footwell in an NBT conversion)
8x Bushing Contact, 0.2-0.5mm2, PN 61130005197 (for NBT ENET)
1x Cable Set for USB, PN 61129255716
1x Antenna Cable, PN 61126970911 (for GPS)
4x Bushing Contact, 0.2-0.5MM2/SN, PN 61130005197 (for CIC/NBT controller)
1x Belkin CAT5E Patch Cable, Black, 7’ (for ODB/NBT ENET)
1x Terminal Socket MQS ELA, 0.2-0.5MM2/SN, 10-pack, PN 61131393704KT (for CID CAN/Power)

1x Universal Socket Housing, 8 pole, PN 61138380696 (for CIC/NBT controller)
8x Flat Spring Contact for Microtimer, 0.35-0.5mm2/AU, PN 61138366598 (for ODB ENET)
6x Filister Head Screw, PN 07147122390 (for CIC/NBT controller)
2x Filister Head Self-Tapping Screw, PN 07147133553 (for monitor)
1x USB Socket, PN 84109237656
2x Socket Housing, 12 Pole, PN 61131383736 (for NBT ENET)
1x Universal Socket Housing, 8 pole, PN 61136954526 (for CID CAN/power)
1x Covering Cap, 12 Pole, PN 61138387204 (for CIC/NBT head unit)
1x Covering Cap, 12 Pole, PN 61138387206 (for CIC/NBT head unit)
4x Filister Head Self-Tapping Screw, PN 07119903793 (for CIC/NBT head unit)

For an NBT conversion, other than the head unit, display, and controller, the only known items needed to complete the kit is the HSD - Tubing CIC -CID, PN 61119228267, to connect the head unit to the display; 18AWG wire (yellow, black, and brown) for rerouting the microphone from the overhead console to the passenger footwell junction panel; and a beige FAKRA plug to FAKRA Jack Right Angle Cable for the Bluetooth antenna. There may be additional parts needed for an NBT conversion, depending upon if the optional (and expensive) Touch Controller is used (I was aiming for an NBT conversion with Touch Controller).

Over $900 (purchased at the lowest prices possible, including shipping) of components, yours for $600 plus shipping if not locally picked up!

Sold my 2008 335i so I'm out of the Beemer world for the foreseeable future. Hope to return again some day, but in the meantime, all these parts have to GO!

Would you sell the components separate from the dash?

Interested. Do you know how much the head unit, display, controller, and controller console cover panel cost?

Depends on how fortunate you are to find a deal, and where. You may be lucky and find a complete setup from a local donor car for cheap.

On eBay, a CCC head unit, display, controller may go for a couple hundred dollars. A CCC-specific center console cover from $50-$100, depending upon condition and finish.

A CIC head unit, display, and controller is a step up and may go from a few hundred to a thousand dollars, depending on condition. If you want to add a Combo box (adds many nice, new features), add another $100-$200.

A NBT head unit, display, and CIC controller is the most expensive, typically commanding upwards of a thousand dollars to several thousand dollars, depending on condition. The nicer Touch Controller is about $300-$500. Most of these on eBay come from Europe. Or you could buy a complete used system with CIC controller from Bimmer Retrofit for $2,500.

A CIC-specific center console cover $70-$120, again, depending upon condition and finish. The Touch Controller would require some modification to the cover to fit.

I forgot to add that the NBT display has to be modified to fit into the double-scoop dash; Bimmer Retrofit does this for you if you buy their complete kit. It's easy to do yourself though...

It's just the swapping of the LCD screen and using the same dash housing right?

Yes; modification of the NBT LCD housing is required to fit/mount into the E9x series double-scoop dash.

FYI for those contemplating this "kit" for a CIC:

The only thing missing is the Nav Unit to Display cable (plus Nav Unit, Display, Controller, and Console Cover), since I hadn't yet decided exactly what Nav unit to get (CIC versus NBT) and the cable is specific to CIC and to NBT.

The included ethernet cable and the pins for the cable would not be needed.

The other items not include that were mentioned for NBT (FAKRA Bluetooth cable, 18AWG wires for rerouting microphone) are not needed for CIC conversion as it would use your existing Bluetooth and microphone wiring.

How difficult would this be to install yourself, or is professional installation recommended?

I've never taken my dash or anything apart before I did this mod and I can say it's not difficult at all, more time consuming than anything, I would recommend staying organized with all parts and screws, what I did was label every screw and put them in little bags and pinned them to my garage wall, sure this takes some time but you will appreciate it when it's time to put everything back together, some start to finish it took me about 6 hours. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again, it's pretty simple once you get started

I'm in the process of selling just the electronics to another interested party but waiting for family to inventory the items (the parts are located half-way across the country from where I'm at presently) as they were gone for a week.

Are you willing to buy just the dash, or do you want the whole kit-and-caboodle?
