Advice on removing Sharkfin on e92 to do a vinyl overlay

I'm looking for information on the removal process of the shark fin.

Does anyone know if this fin can easily be removed and reattached without permanent damage to the roof?

I was thinking of using a heat gun to get it off but have heard that the adhesive on the shark fin is rather strong.

does anyone have a picture of the fin after its been removed?

It's attached with 3M adhesive tape. Heat up the edges and using a butter knife (or something similar) pry it up gently starting from the rear of the fin. Work your way around and it will come off.

To reinstall, take off all the old 3M adhesive, and reapply new one around the perimeter of the fin.

Hope that helps.

Same way as debadging the car. Heat gun and floss works from what I've seen.

My sharkfin was removed when I got my roof done... it's all one piece and you can't see where the edge of vinyl is around the sharkfin.
