e90 328xi front wheel bearkings (versus non-xi)

My car was diagnosed by an indy with bad front wheel bearings. I suspected to be the case beforehand. Problem is, $900 for replacement of both.

Doing a search here and it looks like it's a fairly straight forward job, problem is all of the posts I found discussing it and how easy it is were performed on RWD vehicles.

Can anyone shed some light to how the two jobs would compare, if any, between RWD and AWD? My main concern with working on the car is access to specialty tools.

I was going to be digging in to all of that to do the brakes soon anyway.

Thanks,
