Clutch problems on E90

I have a 2006 E90 with 57000kms.

Whenever I'm sitting at the lights in neutral with the clutch depressed there is a weird noise that sounds like a clicking or (helicopter noise as others have called it during my )

it goes away when I press the clutch down...I'm just wondering if anyone with this problem has had luck with getting the dealer to fix it, and so what was it. I don't know if it's a throwout bearing, release bearing, or if it's normal and it's really bugging me but the mechanic said it's normal.

I have 5 months left on the lease and I plan to buy the car, but not if I'm gonna have problems with the clutch.

Can anyone help with this?

Thank you

You burned out your release bearing. You should never keep the cluthc pedal depressed at an intersection. Pressing the clutch pedal in, engages the throw out bearing. The throw out bearing is a sealed bearing that is part of the clutch assembly. Once the bearing spins, it heats up. When it heats up, the lubrication dries out. Your poor driving habits have burned out this bearing. It has run out of lubrication. When you press the clutch to the floor, the bearing starts spinning and crying out with pain.

Sorry I guess my post was a bit confusing. What I meant was that when the clutch is pressed down there is no noise, however when I'm sitting in neutral with the clutch out (meaning my foot is off the clutch) that's when the noise comes back.
I never idle in one place with my foot on the clutch, just to clarify.
Thanks.

Definitely investigate this before purchasing. I bet your dealer means it is 'normal for cars with clutch components that are wearing out' ie $$$ for them when its off warranty and you're on the hook for the maintenance
