What are everybody's thoughts about black chrome on wheels?

Toying with the idea. Thoughts? Here are 2 pics:

One of my car bone stock when I first got it with the wheels I currently have on the car- you can use that as a reference.

The other pic was when I had my 19 inch wheels on, which I can't afford to do right now with the current road conditions in the tri-state area.

You can see they are gloss black, but I'm not sure how that would work with the stock wheels. Thanks for all of your thoughts!

Oh god, that is such a huge (k)night and day difference. Your stock wheels won't look anywhere as good as your 19s but would probably improve if they were gloss black.

Here's what they look like in a similar color. I like it and almost did it on my car.

Nice, thanks! Trouble is, it doesn't even look remotely close to black, at least not from the pics...

I know Tara... I just can't afford to keep these 19s on my car with all the bad roads around here lately.

I already got an earful from my friends on how my 19s make the car...

Function trumps form this year my friend!

Believe me...it kills me too, but if these bastards would spend more money on paving these roads in the area, then I wouldn't have to resort to my dinky 18 inch stock wheels

DK, size doesn't matter. I've decided to stick with my 18s due to all your bitchin and moaning. Sell your 19s and buy a good-looking pair of 18s.

Doesn't listen to Tara, she's a wuss.

Nothing wrong with 19s, just need the car to be lowered to pull the look off. Black chrome
is a great color on black, it's almost resembles what a very glossy gunmetal would look like.
Which in my opinion would look great on your black E93.

I need to refinish em, then they're going on sale- 2500$ takes em, complete with Michelin PSS staggered tires

Truth be told, I don't miss the harsh bone jarring jolts riding over road imperfections with those 19s.

The ride is more comfortable with the 18s for sure- same configuration, and less of a chance of being stuck on the side of the road trying to get BMW assist to send a tow truck with a blown sidewall.
