I had a mkII with almost identical seats. I kind of like them for that reason alone.

The must have are

5doors
Xenon
Turbo charge of course
Full or atleast half leather
Front wheel or all wheel drive
Reasonable sound system.

Anything else good would be great like Satnav and bluetooth.

I have short listed Seat Leon Cupra R and Mazda MPS as they are quite a reliable brands and have German and Japanese background.

So if there are others tried and tested cars you guys know of then please advice. Not so keen about Renaults though.

Thanks for your suggestions and advice.
A little out of your comfort zone I expect but how about something realy radical, try this for size. 2011 Skoda Fabia Hatchback 5-Dr 1390 cc TSI (180bhp) vRS S2000 http://http://www.autotrader.co.uk/c...1500?logcode=p

Going by your prerequisites , I'd find it hard to look past a mk5 Golf GTi. Brilliant all round car - re-map it and you have a serious weapon on your hands, sir.

0-100mph is 14.1 sec and the Focus RS is 14.2 sec. Most other hot hatch backs over 16secs and the Golf over 17.

The MK2 comes standard with Bose stereo, Bluetooth and sat nav. However there is a small batch of factory mis-builds that were built without what was supposed to be standard.

A few reviews complained about the ride but it's no noticeably worse than any other hot hatch.

I do like the fact nobody knows what they are. It's just a little different.

They also respond well to a remap.

No. FWD only for both versions.

The 6mps had part time 4wd.

I've just purchased an ED30 for my wife, it's our 5th MKV, and 2nd ED30 - all dsg. Fantastic all rounders and a remap away from 295bhp. Once rolling,it as quick as my C2S, or not far off it! Only weak point is the brakes

I'm thinking along the same lines at the moment and for me it is between an E46 M3, 130i and the Golf GTi.

I've not driven any of them but if I was to decide solely on practical grounds then I reckon it'd be the Golf.
