It's common in VWs. Seen that pattern loads of times.

I had a mkII with almost identical seats. I kind of like them for that reason alone.

Going by your prerequisites , I'd find it hard to look past a mk5 Golf GTi. Brilliant all round car - re-map it and you have a serious weapon on your hands, sir.

No. FWD only for both versions.

The 6mps had part time 4wd.

I'm thinking along the same lines at the moment and for me it is between an E46 M3, 130i and the Golf GTi.

I've not driven any of them but if I was to decide solely on practical grounds then I reckon it'd be the Golf.
