Artistically, this isn't anything special. But this is the result of Round One of the Great Storm of February 2011. We still have Round Two about to drop a foot or more of snow on top of this mess. Good luck to you folks in Chicago. And I pity anyone in the Boston area.

We're supposed to get that retarded white stuff on Friday...
3 years in a row in Houston, of all places... Before 2006, it hadn't snowed since 1985 I believe... |

The thing that makes storms like this so bad out here is that the state is a) broke, and b) woefully unprepared to deal with them in any economy. In Massachusetts you would see snow plows lined up on the overpasses before a big storm and the plows and sand trucks would be out in force throughout the entire storm. Yesterday during my 55 mile commute in the ice storm I saw one salt truck, and he was heading the opposite way. This state won't hire privateer plow trucks, so they depend on the few trucks each region has to cover ridiculous amounts of roadway. Plus there is no ready supply of sand here, so they depend on salt, which is pricey and not at all good for the local farmlands.

lol.....
the funny part about this storm..... I guarantee as it get's closer to boston, the weather channels there will say it's a Canadian storm. And we'll get the blame. I was talking to my dad about this yesterday (he lives in colorado half the year) and he basically agreed that it will be turned into a canadian storm. just to point out, he had the storm chasing him back to canada the other day. |

I think I'd rather have some substantial snow on the ground. At least you can drive on that. This ice sux.

thankfully we'll be skipping that with this storm.... so they tell us. The ice is the really bad one, it takes all the power lines out with all the extra weight and stuff. I like walking on it |
