Too bad the audio quality is on par with the finest AM radio stations .
I'm not renewing after my 1 year free sub is over. I can count the times that I have used it on one hand.

The only positive note are the sports.

Not all the stations sound like that ... at least the ones I listen too, but some of the talk stations sound like crap.

The commercial free music channels are worth the price alone. Add in the comedy stations for long trips and a good lineup of talk radio and it’s more than worth the price. Don’t even get me started on the options for sports.

+1, hooked on sirius. My favorite part is drive for 4 hours and never loosing the signal and having to search for local shitty station of wherever it is you are.

True and you have like 100 channels and can rewind live radio if you liked a song with most units.

A related issue is that the one-year subscription is now supposed to include the Best of XM package (re-read the description of the satellite radio option on bmwusa.com). But just try finding one of the Best of XM stations on your radio -- they aren't there. And try to call Sirius to get those stations activated -- they will say that you aren't entitled to the Best of XM stations, notwithstanding what BMW has represented. A guy at NA is working on this for me and calls me periodically to tell me that they are working on it, but it is remarkable to me that this is an issue at all. IMHO, BMW should ditch Sirius in favor of XM -- their customer service is far better.

Does anyone actually receive the Best of XM stations?

I enjoy my Sirius satrad a lot. I have an 08 cpo 335i. I've tried to find the radio id number through the idrive, but I can't seem to come up with it. On my maxima it was easy. Just turn the station to 00 and it would show the radio id number. Anybody know how to get the radio id number?

I know in a 2010 Idrive it took me like 10 minutes to find. I had to go to options on the Sirius screen and scroll to the right. Not easy to find.

When I got my 08, I got a 1 yr trial. When it was time to renew I balked at the renewal price. The customer service person transferred me to the retention department. Told the rep that I could not afford the service and they offered it to me for a yr at $69. Of course I accepted that. Give it a try, haggle for your best price.

I haven't paid more than $77/year for my XM Radio subscription in my Acura since I got it in 2005. I expect to do the same for my Sirius in my E93 as well, since they're the same now.

are you guys getting 69 and 77 as part of 5-year deals or something?

Mine was a one year deal.

Actually after the first year I renewed at the regular going rate back in 2009. When it was time for another renewal in 2010, they added some fees and other surcharges that I was unwilling to pay. So I called them and told them to cancel my account. And the rest is history.

Do they have Channel 8 All '80s? They plan Van Halen like it's going out of style!

The company is the same but everything else is still separate including the billing systems and retention strategies. I haven't heard of anyone on Sirius getting the $77 rate, maybe you'll be the first

Again, my experience is with XM, but that was negotiated year to year. I got a 3-month free sub with the purchase of the Acura, then $77 (50% off) for the first year. Second year came and I called and got that promotion again for another year. Third year came, woman told me couldn't do it three years in a row, but could do it for 90 days at that equal rate, then call in again and since it won't be three years in a row for the $77 the computer would take it again. Sure enough, after 90 days call in again and get $77. This year, they said I couldn't do it so after some arguing I canceled. Within two weeks I got a call from them asking to re-up, I said I would if I could get the $77/year again and they said yes, so here we are 5+ years later.

In my experience, the nicer you are (less demanding), the more likely you'll get the rate--especially if you explain how much you like the service but it is too expensive and you need to start cutting expenses. However, the biggest variable is the operators themselves. If you get a 'we can't do that', thank them, hang up, and call back in a bit. There are SO many operators at the call center that you will rarely get the same operator twice so try, try again.

+1 I had XM on my accord for 5 years $77 a year. Called each time and told them to cancel unless they give me $77 deal worked each time. Whatever content they have it's not worth full price for me.

I'm having trouble getting my free year subscription after a Sirius retrofit (new radio). If anyone has any input on this, please see my other thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...79#post8797279.

An additional problem that I encountered.

I bought a 2010 BMW 328i which had 10,000 miles on it. It was the dealer's loaner/demo car so it had never been titled. Was told I'd get the 1 year satellite subscription.

Well, turns out somewhere along the line someone temporarily activated it and so it registers at Sirius as a used car and they only want to provide a three month subscription.

I've already spent close to an hour on the phone dealing with it and at some point soon I'm going to just give up and pay it myself. Still, annoying that they can't seem to get their act together on it without multiple supervisors and what not having to be called.
