I am considering updating the tune on my 335i N55. From all my lurking on the site, it seems as though most really preferred the Dinan.

But most of those posts were from 5+ years ago. Anybody with updated opinions on quality, impact on engine life, etc?

Thx in advance for any and all input.

BTW: this is part of our project to give my 335i a makeover. Taking suggestions over at: Starting from scratch--E93 mod suggestions? https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1475961

The reason why all the posts you're seeing are from 5+ years ago is due to all the recent tuning developments for the E9x chassis. Dinan and PPK were only popular when the COBB and MHD wasn't available. Now a days the best route to go is MHD, as it is the most active as far as contributors and users.

Do a quick search on MHD and you'll find all the tuning information you need.

What year N55? LCI cars built ~2011-2013 (like mine) contain an HPFP with less capacity than earlier N54 / N55s, and limit power / mods due to inability to hold rail pressure. Do your research!

It is an N55/early 2011.

Why did you choose do that? More flexibility? More power? You worried about some of the issues raised about fuel pump capacity, etc? Thx a ton for your input?

I went from Dinan to MHD. I had an RPM problem with the Dinan tune in my car, and no one at Dinan could figure it out. It took multiple trips and days of flashing and reflashing over a few months. It was extremely inconvenient. MHD I can flash with my phone.

That is cool! Could be a big convenience. What car/engine do you have?

Yupp, pretty much. You also have continuous support from MHD. I have JB4 as well and they just work way better together. N55 as well.
