Any update? I have heated and folding mirrors on my E92. If I purchase M3 mirrors without folding option, will they still fit or will I have to adapt the harness, switch motors... Will the passenger mirror still rotate downwards in reverse? Can I retrofit the folding option on the M3 mirrors?

Ok. Here's where I'm at :

Changed door panel switch to folding type switch.

Result: stock 335i mirrors ( non folding , non lux non winter pkg car ) function normally. ( ie: can manipulate mirrors to change field of vision , auto tilts in reverse )

I am just waiting on the new L-R mirror glass replacements to show up in the mail from Canada today or tomorrow hopefully.

Then , I'll mount the M3 mirrors to the doors and test basic functions again w be switch already in place.

Then , I'll go to my code warrior and have him " retrofit " ( crossing fingers here ) folding of the new M3 folding mirrors into my car and if I get that far !!!! Go for the key fob / alarm remote option of folding from key !!!

This is my plan.
Then continue readiness for the soon coming Bimmerfest 2014. It's just blocks from my house !

( Rose Bowl backyard )

Whoops. I of course missed a couple of your key questions.

Let me try and answer

It is my understanding that you can't retrofit non folding mirrors to folding ones. Or it can be done by installing the folding motors and such but why ? So much $$&& work. Try and find folding ones already complete OR settle for awesome shaped M3 mirrors and forget folding.

Either way you go - Auto Dip in Reverse will and should just work across the board.

I should be further along on this by the weekend and maybe even done There I will have better updates and more pertinent info to give.

Just go to the coding section, you can easily code this in DIY.
