Unhappy Transmission Failure? Need help

Hi guys,

I currently have an N54 e90 335i, and today, when I was driving past 3500rpm, the car would start to shudder a little, Engine Check light comes on, and then everytime I press the gas pedal, the car vibrates. When it's on idle, the car makes a *rumrumrum* noise.

Funny thing is, if I turn off the engine and turn it back on, it turns back to normal! The car would drive normally under 3500rpm, no problems at all, but if it goes past that, the same thing happens again.

I wanted to use my common sense and find out what is wrong, but the only thing I can think of was the transmission... Anyone else had this problem? Please Thanks

I think you would have had the red or yellow COG icon if your transmission was messed up, could be just a engine problem, injectors, plugs, coils, standard stuff to check.

Check the codes will tell you 100%

Thanks for your input, I'm just afraid if I take it to the body shop, they would charge me a ridiculous amount of money for something that I have no idea about. Anybody have/had the same issue or symptoms before with their car?

The car is an '07 Automatic and it is at 73k miles.

Buy a code reader, check for codes to find out what is wrong with your car.
