Halogen to Xenon Questions

I have searched around looking for an answer to these questions, and I have not been able to find a complete answer. My questions regarding a halogen to xenon swap are below:

1) What is the difference between xenon and bi-xenon, if any?

2) I have a pre-lci 328xi with halogen lights right now. I have read through the DIYs on a halogen to xenon swap and am interested in doing it. Can I use a pair of adaptive xenons, or can I only use non-adaptive xenons for this type of swap? I don't necessarily want adaptive headlights, just the xenon/halo look.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't know much about it but this is all the info I cn give you. Don't quote me on it.

You will need to get the new headlights and do some custom wiring on the headlight connectors. You will also need to upgrade your lighting module to an frm2 or frm3. This requires custom coding to pair it to your car. After that, you will need to code out bulb errors and headlight failure codes. Or you can get lci halogen headlights and get the angel eyes from halogen. Plug and play no errors whatsoever

Thanks for the response.

Can I upgrade the halo bulbs on the LCI halogen headlights to a brighter LED light instead of the dim halogen halo bulbs that come with it?

Anyone else feel free to weigh in on my original questions. I'm still curious if I can put an adaptive xenon in this vehicle, or if I can only use non-adaptive xenons.

Lux makes an LED setup for LCI halogen angel eyes.

Google "lux lci halogen" you will be taken to the website. It is completely worth it. They aren't installed yet but here's a pic

Another question I was wondering from a different post I saw: Can you wire the halo to the DRL wire instead of having to turn the parking lights on in order for the halos to light up?

Yes you need the deaos harness and you need to tap wires etc. What I'm actually Doing is upgraded my lighting computer and code it to my car etc. at that point in time I would be able to code in the drl like the newer ones

What's the deaos harness? I searched the forums and couldn't find anything to match that.

Yeah, retrofitting your entire lighting assembly to bixenon is going to be a lot of work and money. Your best bet is to just get the Lux LCI Halogen angel eye for brighter angel eye, and get a good set of H7 like the Osram bulbs to make the headlight brighter/less yellow.
