325i N53 Strange Sound
Hi all,
I am aware that these engines are 'clicky' or 'tappy' due to the DI injectors, and I just wanted to check that the sound below is what people are referring to when they mention this? Thanks. |

+1 mine sounds exactly the same as that as well. if u get a higher pitched metal clang litterely sounds like metal on metal then thats the issue most people have addressed. however the sound in the video doesn't sound like anythings wrong.

Normal. It does seem to get quieter with age/miles...

Reason for asking is I opened a post in the nasp section but I think there may be more n53 folks here. Sorry to cross post! Perhaps it a mod could move it to UK or UK technical please? http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1208295 Last edited by Dormermike; 01-04-2016 at 05:21 PM.. |

My 325i m sport sounds exactly ,it's because when the engine is in idle it's using hardly any fuel,I only found this out after speaking to an expert on here,so it's nothing to worry about.

Both. And the slight drop in rpm when you open the oil filler is normal too. These engines run with a slight vacuum in the crankcase.
