Winter / Ice tyres
FYI - I wanted to swap out my Goodyear summer tyres and the local garage recommended Minerva ICE Plus so I went ahead and replaced all the tyres.
Dreadful mistake! I know I have a heavy right foot and since I sorted all the problems with turbos, DPF, etc. there is more power than ever, but I feel as if I can't trust these tyres. Bite the bullet and if you are going to invest in tyres for Winter, spend more and don't buy these budget/waste of money brand.... |

The least i would buy is vdrestrian because of the good reviews around , mostly positive and only some negative. Its worth looking at review before buying stuff especially sh1t salesmans sell you.

Oh dear, that's not good to hear and if I was you I would go back to garage and speak to the manager and explain that the tyres were reccomended to you as being suitable for your needs and suited to the type of car you have when they clearly are not, I mean that type of tyre on a 335d, well, your asking for trouble.
In the past the winter tyres I have ran and on what are as follows: Evo 6 Tommi Mak Editon - Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 Evo 9 MR FQ 360 - Yokohama Iceguard IG20 E90 330d M Sport - Nokian WR A3 A friend of mine was reccomended some Sunny winter tyres, like yours, utter shite with no grip at all on his Evo 8 MR, it was 465 bhp, he was not the best driver and they just gave away on him resulting in Armco rash in the dry. Nobody in their right mind should be telling you to fit a white tyre to a 300bhp tourque monster like the 335d, it will rip them to shreds and will not afford you anywhere near the grip you need in the snow being auto and rear wheel drive. Take them back and get a good amount knocked off a decent set. FYI I will now I have my E90 335d M Sport as of today be ordering either some Goodyear Ultragrip 8's or Continental 830P's as I have a planned trip to Sweden coming up and I stupidly sold my Nokians 2 months ago, I didn't like them really anyway. Budget tyres are fine when you have a shed with next to know power but their faults soon show on bigger more powerful cars. Plus, you know that these tyres are designed to work below 7 degrees C and that it will feel floaty on them and easy to drift...... |

i have Pzero winter tyres on my 330 and they are great. In some ways i prefer them to summers. The grib in bad conditions is epic, but in the dry when the weather is warmer you can feel the tread blocks move around which actually gives you more feel about what is going on underneath you. Ok they don't hold on as well as my continentals, but are deeply impressive.

On a dry road that is one thing, but when it's icy and cold you want as much grip as possible. For example when its been -2 i was able to almost give full throttle in 2nd without the naughty boy light spoiling my dashboard display. With the summers 3rd would not be possible even at low revs on the same road.
