i learned the dealer thing the hard way. One time i dropped my car off for a tranny inspection it came back to me with coffee all over the interior, and muffin pieces like everywhere!
i made a huge deal out of it, but did not let them clean it off coz i was convinced that it'll only be more damage. that was TUSTIN INFINITI in case you're wondering haha |

***** UPDATE ******
issue has been resolved and car is now AS NEW. I will post pictures, but they will look stock because it's 98% clean. You have to know it's there and you have to use your finger to feel it, you cannot find it by eye balling it. I went to Meguiars for the thursday class and they kindly worked on it. They used Scratch X (thanks OC335i for recommending it). Scratch X was applied using hands, and PC several times. The process to take the gung off the bumper took about an hour. After that they used a product # 80, then they waxed it. I learned a few tricks about detailing. This saturday I plan on detailing my G35, and my brother's 5 series. Thank you guys for support, and i am sorry i was freaking out and sounded kinda ignorant (if i knew anything about it i wouldnt be on a forum asking help ) thanks again |

#80 is Meguiar's Speed Glaze. I have Meguiar's #82 & #83. Swirl Free Polish and Dual Action Cleaner Polish. Speed Glaze is less abrasive and a very easy product to use.
Sounds like you learned something. Detailing is always gratifying, isn't it? So how was the class? Can you tell us more about Thurs? Was it busy? Did they work on other cars? Just yours? How long was the class? Etc..

I arrived around 6:30, an hour late.
They welcomed us in and asked us what we'd like to learn about. We said we have swirls on hood, trunk (kess ekht the dealer -- sorry, cussing the dealer in arabic). and we showed him the scratch. Everyone works on their own car, i do not think any of the guys there would let you touch their cars, i know i would not. They show you technique like edging, they tell you where to tape, they tell you which product you want to use and why it's better than others (aggressive vs. mild, wax built-in vs. plain cleaner, etc.) They show you how to clean with your hands and which result you should expect, and if you cannot meet the expectation they show you how to use the PC. There were about 10 people, but what's interesting is each has a different problem they are working on. So you get to see how they fix their problems while you wait on your wax to dry for example.. They had us use 80, 82, 83, ColorX, scratchX, and a few other products. I forgot the list, but my bro took pictures of everything we used. They also use a xenon light that they project on the car to show the swirls that your bare eye wont catch. then you get to see your car under the same light but with a darker color, and no swirls whatsoever. I highly recommend we ask them to have us in class. The best class is the saturday class according to them. The thursday one is said to be more casual and informal. The saturday has history, theory, and then application and is more formal. We left at 9:30. you can leave whenever you want. I have taken 4 hours doing my car before, but never with all these different products, and i've always used my hands, not the PC. Im definitely buying one now. |

Cool stuff. Meguiar's Customer Service is why I always love and recommend their products. Although I often use other stuff, their stuff are always a safe bet. It seems as if they go pretty late, pretty cool stuff.
After you go to the class, it's kind of impossible to not want to buy a PC. FYI, I've been to their Saturday class twice. Once was with a more advanced group, it was with the Autopia.org guys. Scotwax was there, it was pretty darn cool. I'd go on a Saturday but I don't really need to. I don't want to take up space where someone else could benefit more. I highly recommend it to everyone though. They give you some goodies on Saturdays too. Did you walk away with anything today?

You can sign up on their forums, there's a Calendar. It's usually booked a couple months out.
