Funny you should mention cigars. I have not had one in about a year but do have a lot in the humidor. Trying to not smoke if possible, but I might just pull one out tonight. They have been aging very nicely for the past four years! Now, which one to pick....

I'll make a deal with you, since we are now just getting aquainted with one another. You get one out and smoke it tonight, and I'll do the same, in the name of a new friendship. And from here on out we can be friends and agree, or sometimes not. But we won't be enemies. Anyone who has fought for our great country in good standing is A okay with me. And I'm not the asshole that I sometimes seem, really.

OK I'm back from sensitivity training. No CMD, I don't think you pussed out. I did get a new sticker at class though, so I put it on my sig. It can't be offensive because its true. I had my side view mirror ripped of my E46 on the weekend before the '04 election. When the police took a report, the officer said hundreds of cars with Bush stickers were vandalized that night in his zone including mine. But I'm sure some tolerant person will still find it offensive. As for needforspeed and ga-bmw... its all in good fun, don't take things personally.

It's all cool. A good debate never hurt anyone. By the way CMD, I took it easy and had a Macanudo since I had not had a cigar in ages. Pretty smooth. Had a little Laphroaig single malt on the rocks with it (good recipe for esophageal cancer) but it will be at least several months until I have another cigar anyways. I should know better

I'd have to say any loser who vandalises a car because they don't like a bumper sticker cannot be described as a 'person of tolerance'.

Anyway ... did you pass your sensitivity training? Are you now in touch with your feminine side and do you (for instance) cry when your happy?

Yea, I might even go see Al Gore's movie and thinking about voting for Hillary.

Every law that defines an offense falls into one of two categories. The first category is mala in se, and the second is mala prohibita.

A mala in se offense is a crime that is, by the laws of nature and God, a true crime. Examples of this would be, murder, rape, robbery, fraud, etc.

A mala prohibita offense is one that would not be an offense were it not for the legislature passing a law that makes a particular act a punishable offense. Examples of this would be, possessing or smoking marijuana, buying and selling more than 7 cars a year without a dealer's license (in California), not obeying road signs and speed limits, etc.

Most would agree that violating an immigration law is merely mala prohibita.

Most reasonable people would still say there is a difference between exceeding a posted speed limit, and entering our country illegally.

Regardless if a crime is mala in se or mala prohibita, there are still gradings of crimes. In Pennsylvania (where I'm from) there are summary offenses, misdemeanors (3,2,1 degree), felonies (3,2,1 degree), and murder (3,2,1 degree). Speeding would be considered a summary traffic offense where you pay a small fine and do not go to jail. Although immigration laws are federal, the equivalent punishment for violating them in Pennsylvania would equate to a 1st degree misdemeanor or a 3rd degree felony which is amongst some serious crimes.

B.T.W. your car that is enroute is going to be bad ass!

I actually thought that the tone of this thread was pretty civil.

I didn't take offense to any of it.

Thanks for the kind words about my new car

And I agree with the distinction between speeding and immigration with respect to the severity of the offense, but someone is very rarely criminally prosecuted for merely coming to the United States illegally. The exception is if the individual has already been ordered removed by an Immigration Judge or expeditiously removed at a port of entry, and then attempts to return to the UNited States without first obtaining permission to reapply from DHS in connection to a nonimmigrant waiver of inadmissibility should there be an underlying ground of inadmissibility.

Everyone IS getting along. It's a off topic discussion forum, shooting on-line messages back and forth is exactly what it is for. Nothing is wrong with voicing our opinions. Remember, opinions are like everyone has one!

Hey man I didnt complain to the admin. I just said it was kind of offensive. Im not from Mexico but I have lots of Mexican freinds all over Mexico. And beleive me that stereotype of mex tex gang bands that some people think of them is not even 1% of what real mexicans are. So Im sorry if you took it so seriously but come to think of it this is an international web page. And as you may know there are latin people on this site too. Just keep that in mind. Just Ill ask you to not post those things just like that. Its not even my problem because you wont find not even one Panamanian working in the us or whatever.. BTW I changed my e90 now its sapphire black.
