1M Front Bumper for us UK E92/93 Owners
Hi, Due to a thread I started previously
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=764010 A few people have PM'd me and asked that they wanted to order one as well and if we order more than 1 we may get some discount. Anyway, I'm in touch with a current supplier of Prior Design, but obviously they would want an indication of numbers. http://www.prior-design.de/bmw_3-ser...2_product_line Currently if you were to single order one direct from Prior Design it comes to 790 Euros. If you are interested, put your name down and I'll get an idea on prices. You will need to state which configuration you're interested in (PDC, washers, widebody/non wodebody)etc. If there are some serious enquiries then I will put all parties in touch with the supplier direct, as I will not be involved in the money side of things. I'm just happy to write a few emails and make a few calls to the parts guy. Cheers, Andy

What is the fitting like? are these a bolt on job or require further work?
Would these come primed? What happens to the front fogs housing as in the pic I cant see them? I may possibly interested but only if they are a sraight swap with no further cutting/work Last edited by mistryn; 11-02-2012 at 12:55 PM.. |

No LCI version which is a shame as I'd be all over bonnet / wings / 1m front end for LCI!

They come primed black PP, nice materials & nice finish. Fogs will need removing. Cutting or a bit of reworking is likely so not a mod for your driveway, there is a thread on here somewhere of some guy trying to home fit the m3 kit and its just embarrassing and upsetting for everyone involved. |

Just to let you know that mstyle now offer the 1m front bumper also.
http://www.mstyle.co.uk/acatalog/info_B02MS082.html Personally I would message Long Tran from LTBMW in the US and see what group buy discount he could offer as I believe he was one of the first to produce the 1M style bumper. He's also very well regarded in the US modified BMW scene. |

Agreed, it's worth an email. But, there are no LTBMW parts distributors in the UK, so if there was an issue, it's a bit of a headache sorting out replacements/return to the US.

Longtran's work is immaculate, the trouble for me with this mod is that it's not just a bolt/stick on jobbie,it needs a degree of bodyshop alteration from what I can gather. Finding someone to do the job is a ballache some could do without. Best of luck with it CB,if it looks like this,it will be a winner http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=720869

Also ltmw is one of the most in demand workshops in the USA, for good reason, a few UK people have inquired there already but got little in the way of a reply. If you want to go down the custom route you are probably better off finding a good uk based body shop and asking them to do the same moulding long tran would, save the shipping, but its unlikely you will get any sort of group buy rate. |

Guys,
The project has not been going as expected... The product finally arrived some 1,5 after ordering. However, the body shop where I took the M1 bumper for installation and painting, is saying that the surface of the bumper will need at least 3-4 hours of preparation before it can be painted. I delivered them a Schmiedmann bonnet for painting and installation at the same time and they said it was 100% ready for painting. Schmiedmann products are much more cheaper so I was really surprised of this! Do you find it normal that the bumper would need such 3-4 hours of preparation before it can be painted? I can post photos of the unpainted product later. However, the bigger issue is that the body shop is stating that they feel this does not fit the 335i nicely but there would need to be additional parts inside the bumper! They said that there would need to be some air pipe for the brakes and also additional parts under the bumper etc. Alex.Devol below said that the installation was surprisingly good although not for driveway. I took the product to a professional body shop hoping to have good results but it seems they were expecting it to be purely installation and no modifications... Does anyone have any experience on additional modifications done to make the bumper to fit a 335i with original M-Sport bumper? Still hoping to have the product in the car before summer.... |

Sorry to hear this mate, maybe get a second opinion but perhaps its just unlucky. All pd parts went on easy for me, schmiedmann on the other hand have given me nothing but nightmares..

Hi lads. Seem of you may know that I have the 1m bumper for my e92.
It was fitted and supplied by mstyle. They sourced it from prior designs. This bumper was a pain to install. I luckily had 2 weeks while I was away to give the car to them to install the bumper. Multiple test fits and multiple re sprays later they got it to work very nicely. But it took time. If you are going to buy it, have mstyle fit it too. They wil make it look OEM. Check out the pics |

Josh,
The pics look really good; I just gotta get that installed elsewhere... I actually had also planned to have the bumper installed while I was on travel for two weeks. However, first the bumper was delivered late and then the body shop felt that its too difficult to install (or they just prefer to install originals). Anyways, I now have a few suggestions or alternative body shops and will try to get someone to work on it shortly! |

Josh,
Still a question about the internal components inside the bumper; do you know if they were able to just modify the original plastics inside the bumper or how did they manage to get it to look OEM quality in the end? |

I am not going to lie. It was expensive. BUT MY GOD IT IS WORTH IT!
Check out the mstyle website. The cost of the bumper and the fitting is there. Unlike birds where a job becomes more complicated than expected, they begin charging the customer for unexpected extra hours. But mstyle quoted the price on the site and did it for that price. Doesn't matter how many sprays, remits were done. All the internals came with the bumper I expect when they sourced it from prior designs. |

Just checked the Mstyle website. Seems painting and fitting is 550 pounds. That's actually really reasonable when compared to quotes I've been getting here in Finland and finally theirs company refused to do the installation due to saying that they would need additional parts...
