@Taibanl Thanks for the pics of running the speaker wire through the boot connector in the door. I will have to look at that again, I couldnt find a way through. Did you have to cut a slit in the boot? Have you ever seen a part number or that whole boot door connector on realoem.com?

No cuts. Just like vp electricity said. 12ga wire. Scrunched the connector up. Ran wire underneath. You can pull the connector out of the end while you route the wire then put it back in.

Great and helpful post! Did recoding to HiFi add any value to the system?

**update, just read that you are having issues with the Hifi recode. This is causing me to rethink recoding as well. I guess I'll wait to hear what happens.

Wow. That is awesome. Nice job.

There is no way I would have the patience to do all that myself.

Currently at dealer for a potential SECOND HU replacement. There is a March 2014 Service Bulletin for HU noise in the HiFi config, see attached:

Very impressed with your install and the care and attention to detail you have achieved.

I'm looking at getting some rainbows too, the SL-C6.3's for mine and power them thru the either the iPaul2300 or iPaul4300.

Great to see loads of pics and getting your hands dirty mate.... nice one

Why the Rainbow set, it is not optimized for the BMW. 3" mids are the wrong way to go, also having all 3 speakers on the same crossover is not advisable.

Glad to hear you got to the bottom of this. Does this mean you're going to stick with the hifi recode for the low level outs? I'm still contemplating...it's a lot of work to de-eq...
