Total cut off of power on full throttle???

I have a 335i that has an ETS intercooler, AR catless downpipes and a JB4 on map 5 but with standard bmw diverter valves and it has an intermittant fault, where on full throttle it looses all power then kicks in again or kangaroos for a couple of seconds

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Also, which would be best once ive sorted this out, or could one of the below solve my problem?

Forge DVs or
AA blow off valve.

Thanks

I'd try and log the fault and send it over to Jim @Burger motorsports, and let him have a look.

+1

Nothing to do with DVs or fitting BOVs.

Try DTC on for a start (short press on DTC button)

Better still set the JB4 to automatically put the car in DTC mode, saves pressing the button every time.

I have just an Evolve map but had a similar thing when cornering quick and nailing the throttle on exit... serious lack of power.

As said above it was cured by hitting the DTC button. Makes the car so much more fun to drive.

Right then. I've programmed the JB4 to do the DTC and it does appear to be better, but I'm stationary for ages now wheel spinning. Just can't get the power down!!!
LSD next then is it?
Also what advantage would the DVs or BOV give to the other parts fitted? Cheers.

If they don't currently leak then no advantage..

Some like the noise, not me personally.

Are you running on Run flat tyres still?
I found these very skittish and slippery until I fitted normal tyres!
also check the tyre tread depth, they may be past their best?

You are going to have serious problems getting the power down at WOT in the low gears. That is why the traction control was messing you about. LSD would make a massive difference as would sticky tyres also waiting for summer will help.

The biggest difference will come form practice at being very quick and accurate with your right foot!

LOL, you do realise the throttle has more than two positions? ON or OFF?

I have the LSD and good non-rfts and in the wet mine still spins - but both wheels - in 1st, 2nd (and 3rd quite often)

1st is a waste of time in the dry too, 2nd is struggling, god knows when I get the meth kit on!

You can't overcome the laws of physics i'm afraid....

Cheers Nick, LSD sounds like an option. Who does them?

I've got 275 wide rear Michelin Pilot Super Sports as well as an LSD and traction is still an issue if you mash the pedal. Right foot remap required

PS you can actually make the Forge Diverters sound like a BOV if you remove the recirc pipes and plug the holes in the air filter pipes.

Have you done this to your Forge DVs? Does it effect performance etc? What LSD have you got fitted mate?

Yep I did it on my Forge DVs as the recirc pipes had started to split under the jubilee clips from my constant tinkering. There was no change in performance at all and I read about it on the main engine side of the forum where a few other people had done the same.

I've got an m3 LSD in mine but it took a lot of custom work to get it working.
