Are you modding the inlet charge pipe as well? The inlet and charge pipe are ID matched which means you just introduced a step in the flow right before the compressor...

nice jpsimon.. I'm really happy with the power my car is making right now too, and if I could see 500whp with a nice and steady power curve, that would be perfect.. if these built twins don't run outta breath up top, this could be great

i see that the BMW turbos are vary small there only so much you can do. did you guys change the shafts? if so what are there ? i think the only thing holding you guys back is the HPFP has any one or will anyone every tried using a FP turbo like a Green/Red or even a Black on a BMW ? i would like to know if they can bolt on to the stock mani and fit. it would be a cheaper turbo upgrade Devin

@Devin
AMS experimented with FP. No offense, but if FP had a housing that would just bolt up to the N54 someone would have done it long ago...

I get the feeling you think you're going to r&d a turbo upgrade right here in this thread... There are lots of resources on this forum that show the manifold. And if you'd read any of the turbo upgrade threads you'd have seen it posted several times. While your at it make me a big single upgrade.
This thread has no rails anymore. |

Five dollars. Yes, Its true. If you had read the thread, you'd know this. All for the price of five chicken sandwiches you can upgrade your turbos. |

We just did the preliminary dyno pulls today. Going to drop the car off tomorrow morning and they are going to start taking it apart.
We did a couple valet mode pulls (stock boost/timing), and stage 3+ at their default settings. The results are pretty much exactly as we estimated, although this is an awd mustang dyno so it reads MUCH lower than folks on here are normally used to seeing... and I know no matter how it is explained, people will be confused, but i digress.. moving on! We have to remember a couple things... although the baseline run is at the stock boost levels, my car is completely catless, has an upgraded FMIC, and intakes.. So if one was to guestimate, a COMPLETELY stock 335xi would probably put down ~20+whp less. Also, these runs were done with the hood closed. -- In valet mode (with all my mods) it made roughly 251whp / 283wtq. With the stage 3+ map (maxing out at 16psi) it made 338whp/383wtq. So the delta is exactly what should be expected if we factor in the 20-25whp less for a completely stock XI (they estimated a stock 335xi would make 230whp) Last edited by jpsimon; 03-01-2010 at 04:00 PM.. |
