Commands on the Bavarian Technic Tools

Hi, I have a few questions regarding the BT tool. I am hearing the BT tool has some cool commands such as changing the water pump's delivery and exhaust flapper open/close. Is this true?

1. If so, would setting the water pump delivery to 95% mean that it would be constantly on?

2. And what settings should i have for the radiator to maximize cooling? I am specifically referring to the screenshot below. I'm not sure what Radiator Top Close/Open, Bottom Close/Open mean.

3. Would modifying the Exhaust flapper setting throw a code similar to un-plugging the Exhaust Flapper in the trunk?

Thanks.

AFAIK, and I could be wrong, activations would be used primarily for diagnostic purposes. You could activate the water pump delivery but once you shut off the engine and restart it, that command is back it's default (unless there's some coding that could be done but I doubt it).

Also, I don't see why anyone would want to alter the cooling system especially to 95% - it's just unnecessary wear on a part that requires it to be replaced down the road so you could be accelerating the process.

Correct! Those commands are just for diagnostic purposes. You get the same functions (and some other ones) out of INPA.

Thanks! What about the exhaust flap (Golf tee mod)? Can it permanently open or close without throwing a code while using the BT tool?

No. Again, those are diagnostic procedures to check whether certain components function the way they are supposed to.

Yes, those are only to check to see if they are functioning. There are no settings to alter there.

You should try turning on the coolant fans to 95-100%, they are quite powerful LOL
