There is something whereby you can get the coupe windows to drop abput 1/2way to aid entry in tight spaces. But having a Touring I've never paid much attention to the threads on how it's down

if you press the unlock button twice the window drops 50% of its travel - its designed to aid opening the door and squeezing in if someone/something is parked too close. It will close again as soon as the door is shut.
Pressing the unlock button once will allow the window to drop enough to pass the seal and allow the door to be opened easily.

Mine does the same and now I know why. I will get round to looking at the manual somewhen.
Carlos, how do I check the oil?

Mine does this also - did it loads at first 'cos I had an Audi A4 before - the 1st press unlocked the drivers door, and a subsequent press opened the rest of the car (good facility to stop someone sinister jumping in the passenger door as you get in the drivers!). Took months to get out of the habit!
Now, we have just bought a Leon Cupra FR that has exactly the same system and I am getting back into the habit again! doh!!! The FR is supposed to be for the missus but I love driving it so much I keep pinching it brings the boy racer back out of me ha ha |

It is the Mk1 shape (54 plate) and has the 1.8 20v Turbo engine in it (180bhp) - same engine as the Audi TT and golf GTi

Nice car it sounds Leon MK1's look really good. I drive the wifes Fabia vRS at the weekends to keep my hand in with a manual and it's a lot of fun on A and B Roads.

Even when you open the door? That's when they drop...

Again, something you set on the iDrive (Convenience unlock?), and then do two deliberate presses - leave a short gap in between.

Creepy, don't hold the button down, just click the open button twice. Open the door and the window goes half way down. When you get in and close the door, the window closes.
If you have the locking configured for one click for driver's door, two clicks to unlock the other door(s) I think it still works - though maybe not a brilliant idea if it's chucking it down. |
