Xenon Headlights

New forum member here with a question about my xenon headlights. Have a 330xi (2003) with one headlight "out". When first turned on it flickers a couple times then goes out completely. I understand there are three main components involved, bulb, ignitor, and control unit. Can anyone tell me which is the likely culprit? How much can I expect to pay to fix it? Closest BMW dealership is over 200 miles away. Can any "auto-electric" shop fix this?

Also have a problem with and intermittant indication that one of my tail light/brake lights is out, but when I check they are working fine. What might be up with this?

Thanks,
