Have a look at the oil level sensor from Hella, as then look at the BMW one. The markings are all the same, both have Hella branding except the Hella sold unit has the BMW markings grinded off from their factory because they cannot sell the BMW brand name themselves.

There are many parts like this, and then there are also many parts that are not BMW original designs but instead companies trying to offer a cheaper alternative.

Nonetheless, BMW (and many others) manufactures very little in house. Often brand like Bosch, continental, meyle, bilstein, hella etc make the parts, and BMW resells them with BMW branding through their supply chain, branding them as "genuine BMW".
What's the warranty for those parts ? BMW I believe you get 2 years ?? I feel
Somewhat ripped off now as I spent quite a bit getting it replaced at discounted labour and BMW parts it was pretty cheap for what I got/had done but still exy

From clickable? 12 months. But at that price you could still buy two and still do alright.

FCP Euro has a lifetime warranty. ECS tuning has a 1 year warranty.

I just ordered GEN pump/BEHR thermostat/bolts and USP shipping
Total US $591.12 which equals AUD $805 Exchange rate is shit at the moment
FROM http://www.autohausaz.com/index.html
I rang BMW and the cost of pump/bolts/thermostat $1218
Then another $118 BMW wants for the coolant hose

I will install them on my next service to be sure and safe (nobody want's to be stranded in the middle of traffic.
