I've only got a few weeks before I will require my third oil service. I believe that the third service is a bit more rigid with various parts requiring renewed automatically at the third?

I got a quote in Edinburgh today which I will round up to make easy.

Standard scope £20. What is that?

Engine oil £192

Air filter £37

Spark plugs £177

Microfilter £50

That gives a total of £475.

Using http://www.maindealerdiscount.com/ the 3rd oil service option comes in as low as £151.

How can it be so low? It only says in drop option excludes microfilter but that's only £40. Bowker in Preston say the service should cost £233. 3rd service is mandatory for plugs to be changed is it not?

Synter say on the same site say it should be £490 but reduced to £310 plus the £40 for the microfilter.

What have others paid for the 3rd service to give me a little indication?

Plugs are every 40k miles.

I thought they were timed with third service.

My printout says 1200 miles to all of the above listed which will takes me to 44k.

Just had my 3rd service end of last year at 44k. Spark plugs are due at 3rd service and also engine air filter as well as microfilter. As my spark plugs were changed due to a miss fire the week before the service they were not required. I also tied in an overdue brake fluid change to cut down the standard scope charge which is charged every time you present your car for any CBS servicing. Total cost with a 25% discount was £294 (Without Spark plugs)

One thing i do know is it will be over a grand at John clark lol

I am away down to perth tomorrow for my 2nd oil service,brake fluid,vehical check with me supplying my mobil esp (bought for £75 for 10ltr) Its £177

I agree you need air filter every 3rd oil change but just looked at my records and it might have been missed. Last I paid for equivalent stuff for my 335i at main dealer before VAT was
