Dealership valve cleaning and service pricing

I was recently quoted $60 - oil change $120 transmission fluid change and $400 for a walnut blast valve cleaning service from Irvine BMW. I am definitely doing the oil change because I am too damn lazy to do it myself, I think I am going to skip the transmission fluid change, but I am debating the $400 walnut blast. Is $400 reasonable for the valve cleaning? Thanks in advance for the advice!

Those are all great prices! I think I paid $120 for an oil change at BMW of Santa Maria, and I have heard of people paying $300+ for the transmission fluid change. And it's not uncommon to see some dealers charge anywhere from $600-$1000 for the walnut shell blasting. I was able to get mine done for $400 just because I was the first intake cleaning they did.

Yup great prices.what's the catch? If you have more than 40k miles or close to it get the cleaning done.

There is no catch, I performed an oil change and changed all my spark plugs December of 2011 for $150 for everything including parts and labor. Now I guess I will probably just bite the bullet and get the walnut blast, oil and tranny fluid change all done too. My car is a 335i MT with 45k (2007)

For a dealership, those are WAY low prices.

Do it!
