advice needed a little bump
hi
my wife went to pick our daughter u this morning so she was sat in the car waiting for her to come out and someone tryed to Parallel park in a space behind her, when moving forward she bumped my car, my wife come out and had words with her and she said its only a little mark,as the car was dirty with all the salt, now i have washed the boot i see more marks, i have got her number plate and address and number should i tell the insureance company and let them fight it or leave it, what grounds do i have i dont want it to get messy and drag on for ages, i also have a little mark on the offside back bumper about 2 inches before, will they pick up on that and say well i allready have marks before so i cant claim, i dont want to claim on my insurance too, any advice would be great |

tell your insurance company, yes - just as you have explained it here.
if the other party admits fault (which sounds like they will/have) it won't be an issue - and you'll be able to recover you're excess from them. it the other person denies it, then it might be a harder battle. the other damage that's already there should just get "cleaned" up at the same time.....

I'd speak to the person who hit you and ask them what they want to do. They would probably want to do it outside the insurance company due to the level of damage and their level of excess on their policy.
If they say no then just do it through the insurance company. |

surely the fact that they've surrendered their contact details is an admission of liability...
