Audi S4 3.0 Superchaged

Anyone had or considered one?

On paper anyone looking at a 335i should have thought about it?

The remap seems to make it very useful especially with the 4WD. As the 335D & 335i suffer from traction I imagine once remapped.

I wanted one over my 335, but at the time they had just came out and was about £10k more than a used 335. It's a nice car but not worth £10k more than a 335. My mate has an avant and it doesn't half shift

A guy in our office has one.
IMO it looks like a standard a4 with 4 tailpipes. Its very boring to drive as well. But it is fast. The interior quality is leaps ahead of BMW and its a nicer place to be. Id still prefer a 335i though!

He paid something like £33k for his, I paid less than a third of that price for my M3 which in turn is as quick, if not quicker.

Too pricey, too juicy (it's in V8 M3 territory), too heavy (similar weight to M3 again), worse handling, 335 DCT is much less money. On paper the S4/S5 match up more with the M3 but get trounced in performance.

Meh to Audi interiors too. I know people love them, but buttons are for the 90's. The world has moved on from hundreds of light up buttons. Get in a Tesla and all you get is a huge iPad.

My wife drives an Audi A5 S line, handles like a tank.

She loves the spaceship like interior, IMO not as good quality as BMW

Dual mass flywheels are weak on VAG cars, so doubt they could handle the extra power.

Audi will argue the toss over anything under warranty, there is a bloke on the RS5 forums that took his car on a trackday and was photographed by an Audi employee, had his warranty voided on the strength of it.

Had an avant s4 now got a 335 dct.
Awesome car the s4 ride leagues ahead, smooth lag free engine and a little faster than the 335.
Dct much better than the audi sportronic though, this is the Achilles heel of the s4,also bmw handles better but I still preferred the audi overall as it rode so much better. Steering of audi lacked feel but I still preferred it as I find the bmw one on the wrong side of heavy.
Interior nice place to be with well thought out controls, better leather than bmw dakota but actual interior quality of bmw feels better, too many cheap plastics in the s4.
I sold the s4 to get a newer model but ended up with a bargain of a 335 with dct and the n54 engine. Unbeatable at the prices they are going for even though the audi was a better overall car, so at the moment happy with the 335 but if funds allowed would definately recommend the s4 in avant form.

I've waited for the best part of a year to see some depreciation..but I've now given up. £17-18k for 80-90,000 examples. It's a massive risk.

Do you know how? I've heard of insurers cancelling this because they specifically exclude track / racing use but warranty? Is there a T&C in the Audi Warranty that says you mustn't drive it fast?

I'd love to know the details.

I'll have a look at the Audi warranty book tonight.

Read the M3 drivers manual and they more or less encourage you to take it to the track and recommend taking it to them for a health check beforehand.

The only thing I can think of is that they class it as "wilful damage or neglect". I'd like to challenge that in court though.

That is quite amazing how that tune was so simple.

On a side note, Oh my,my! The second best factory rims come from Audi! The five spoke 19s are nice!!!!

Didn't BMW try do something similar when the e46 M3 came out - wherein if the engine had issues and you'd use the launch control more than a few times, they made a fuss?

There it is. Page 11 of the Audi warranty booklet - Warranty exclusions.

6. Vehicles modified in any way from the original manufacturer's specification.

9. If the vehicle has been used for competitions of any kind, racing, pacemaking, rallies, off road use including track days, for any form of hire or reward and usage for or by driving schools.

competitions of any kind (show and shine?? )

I didn't think the last bit would be in there, so I assume if you ran it as a taxi then warranty would be void.
