Drove an XI in the snow for the first time.
Well since my car was stuck in the snow today. And i was too lazy to get it out till later. I stole my moms 330xi, since ive never driven it in the snow with it I figured I'd go have some fun.
Well all i have to saw is damn. I could tool down Rt1 @ 65MPH in the snow NO problem, and the DTC system is incrediable. I could come out of turns at like 30-40 mph and it wouldnt even kick out. It would cut power, straighten out. I was SOooooo jealous of her X drive lol. (Still i like the rear better when its dry) but hell then i disabled the entire dtc system, and the car would go nicely sideways into corners and it was like the car knew what it was doing on its own.. All i have to say is WOW, XI is the Sh1t!!!!!

Tried my car in snow for a first time. Pretty good. I could initiate the slide but it was predictable and easy to correct. DSC and DTC work as expected. Very stable in slippery turns.
X-Drive is a lot of fun :rocks: I have: 325xit with Dunlop Wintersport 205/55R16. |

I have to agree. This morning the snow was just up to the top of wheels. Instead of shovelling (I'm much too lazy) I just got in and drove away. No problems. I had to drive my wife down to JFK this morning (only 4 hours delayed). Eventhough I saw no fewer than 4 other cars do 180°s on 95 I had no problems at all. The 330xi even with regular all season tires is quite able in the snow. I never would have been able to make the trip in my old Passat.

When I see pictures like that, where is the weather channel now!! It was sunny yesterday in Buffalo! (Heard that on the radio on the drive in this morning)..
Don't worry though, there calling for some more lake effect snow around here tonight, about another 6in.. Garages are REALLY nice!!

Snowed a ton yesterday and had the first opportunity to test out the snow tires today on my 330i (not X version)
Got the Dunlop M3 winter combination and the new tires handled the snow like a champ. I had my summer tires on during the last storm (back in early Dec) and it's like night and day. Last Dec, I almost got stuck pulling in and out of the driveway (where the plows leave a snow speed bump). This time around, there was at least 2x the amount of snow and the car handled everything with no loss in traction.
