Help! broken end link

I was at a shop getting my walnut blast done and wanted them to raise the front of my car about an inch.. Car ran great after the walnut blast, but they noticed a problem

The previous owner had KW coil overs installed on the car, and allegedly they came with smaller sway bar end links.. The place who installed them used the stock end links, and apparently the mount that mounts the end link to the shock tower broke off. Its hanging there. They suggested I purchase an entire new suspension because it would be impossible to fix/weld just that one part and its cheaper to buy a new set.

Any suggestions? New kw v1's are like 1700 + install +alignment. I don't have the extra funds right now to do that! Help!

Thank you

Also - the car supposedly has aftermarket sway bars.. I don't know if these are the stock endlinks with aftermarket sway bars, or if they are the stock sway bars and end links.. But the reason for this happening is because "the suspension came with a shorter set of end links and whoever installed it used the stock ones" I trust this place but I also just don't know if there is a cheaper solution. The shop wanted me to buy new coil overs which ideally IS the best solution because I don't know how old these are, the drivers side is wearing also, etc, but there might be a cheaper solution that isn't in their best interest because they want to make a sale. Tough to decide. First time dealing with them so im not sure.

Thanks for all your help!

Competent shop would have fix that on the spot. They just want to milky your money. If you need to rebuild your coilovers just wait and do it when the strut is off the car. If not go to another shop. Preferably modification or welder fabrication shop. Good luck!

I was told today that it couldn't be welded because you cant apply heat to it. Is that true?

True, however that strut is already damaged and other than replacing it to weld is the only option. Seek for experience tig welder.

I am going to have to try to weld it.. But I want to get to the source of the problem in the first place so it doesn't happen again. Is there any way for me to get shorter end links? And where can I find just that bracket? I would like to cut off the driver-side one also and just weld two new ones in place.. Would it matter if I got the bracket welded higher up to make these existing end links work properly? I am unfamiliar with suspension components and how they are supposed to work (bought the car with these on) so I don't know how to go about making them setup the proper way..

The car was lowered and you had stock length.
When the e9x is lowered, significantly lowered than stock:
-front link MUST be LONGER
-rear link MUST be SHORTER
You can't find that bracket. You can only cut it off from some old struts.

How can I locate longer end links?

Search for adjustable sway bar links. Purchase those within you budget.

Thank you, might just be easier to buy two new coilovers for the front though.
