Probably should post this in the x-drive section, but...what's with the rebuild? Go boom?

Yes electrical box blew. Was replaced but now have some jerking/kick on 1st and 2nd. Dealer says transfer case has to be replaced. No more warranty. But I heard a rebuild is possible.

Buy it remanufactured and save your time. You won't have the tools or specs to do it anyways. Even the dealers just swap them.

Garage List
Going to be very difficult finding a shop to rebuild these due to them being so new and rebuild parts being limited/expensive. I'd recommend contacting an Audi shop and seeing if they know of anyone who rebuilds German t-cases. They'll have the most experience with AWD foreign vehicles and will be able to point you in the right direction.

I'm not sure where you'd get the parts but it would probably be from the manufacturer. The case is very easy to take apart and put back together. Just remember to keep everything in order when you take it out. I lay the parts in kind of an exploded view on the table as I do it.

The clutch set up on the inside is kind of like how a limited slip differential works. But the ramp isn't load controlled, its electronically controlled and infinitely variable.

Pretty simple once you look at it. Hope all goes well for you
