The Shell M1375.4 is believed to be the original in our transmissions.
Some of us have used the ZF Lifeguard 6. TDIwyse found this place: http://www.thectsc.com/products/oil-...ce-186-50.html. You also might want to read through this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1001435 |

I plan on using thectsc.com in the spring, supporting the smaller shop that specializes in the trannies and provides the good info for all of us to use. The deltas of transmissions, which kit to use etc...all listed there.
No affiliation, I just try to support the specialists when I can - b |

+1 on their expertise. Klaus helped me with recommendations concerning pan replacement. At one point i wanted to use the steel pan from a E53 X5 as it has same transmission as our 335D but with steel instead of plastic pan. Klaus pointed out to me that I would be decreasing the volume of the fluid held in the transmission and possibly overheat it. I was trying to find a cheaper way to do fluid service without eating cost of pan replacement too.

ID parts
I use ID parts (independent diesel parts) for oil, def, and tranny.
Good prices.
