Suspension Replacement question
My 135 is about to hit 100k. The suspension doesn't feel to bad, but i have been noticing some excessive noise over bumps sometimes like a clanking from the front.
My question is what parts should be replaced around this amount of miles? I have a set of shocks and struts as well as a front sway bar from my first 1er that i crashed with 30k miles on them. Should i just throw those one? Thanks |

The noise could originate from a number of things:
-Leaking control arms -Loose bushings -Worn shock mounts -Sway bar end-links -... Your best bet is to have the car professionally inspected at an indy shop.

Worn out dampers will make noises too; I wouldn't count anything out. Between the dampers and the control arms, I think it's more likely the control arms would wear out first though. I've seen them go with well under 100k miles.

Your best bet it to have a mechanic look over your bushings and see what if any need replacing. If all the bushings look good then it might be the shocks.
